Monday with Ioqe - Interview/Music

Today I logged onto soundcloud and saw that Ioqe favourited his track that I  had uploaded. Immediately after seeing this I messaged him asking if it was okay that I had posted it then I proceeded to ask for an interview. He happily agreed to the interview which got me really pumped! Here it is: 

Q: What's your name, age, and where are you from?

A: My name is dustin, and i'm 17.. and from berlin/germany

Q: How did you get started in making/producing dubstep music? How long have you been doing it for?

A: I started, dont know.. a good year ago now, to (actively)produce dubsteppish stuff, i began with hiphop/rapbeats when i was 13 or so but it wasn't such a big hobby back then.. 
so i'd say i'm doing it for 4-5 years now, but not really active

Q: What or who inspired you to get started?

A: There're just a few people who really inspire me.. ruckspin, untold, truth and planas were just the bigger ones.. i often 'support' unknown producers which do the same highquality-stuff like the pros..

Q: Favourite beer?

A: Heineken

Q: Favourite food?

A: Pizza? kinda unusual questions! haha :D

Q: Favourite artist(s) or song(s) at the moment?

A: ATM i really adore pangaea - You & I and eliphinos remix of kidkanevils 'floating world'

Q: Any plans to release a mixtape/EP in the future?

A: I'm not planning on a specific ep or album, because i just released the free-ep 'my way' together with two artists about 2 weeks ago.. but don't worry, i'll do music in the future, too :)

Q: What's your favourite thing about making music?

A: The best thing about producing is the fact, that you're able to do exactly the music that satisfies you. you don't have to search for a huge track which makes you happy for just 90%.. no, you're able to do 100% the stuff, you like to. and if other people (like you) like my stuff, it's just the double awesomeness!

Wednesday Wobbles #5 - Neurotoxin

Today's song goes pretty hard! I'm sure all of you Portal fans will recognize the samples used in this. I think that the samples were used in a really good way, unlike some songs where I find they are just randomly thrown in the song at certain parts. This track really seems to flow well. It is relatively unknown and I really think it deserves much more exposure. Enjoy.

To be honest I've never heard of this artist before but I have to give it up to Stinkahbell for this awesome track. Such a great beat with a nice drop and a heavy bass wobble. Enjoy.

I'm currently finishing up an economics scrapbook and as I'm stressing this song began to play. I immediately felt more calm and relaxed. I'm not sure if it was the soothing sound of the strings in the background, the laid back beat (well for the most part), or the comfort in the tone of the vocals but I really dig this. Whats going on everyone?  This is Kelvin posting today.  Today we are featuring Zeds Dead, a local dub group from Toronto.  One thing that all of these tracks have in common is the absurd amount of wobble that Zeds Dead is known for.  So sit back, turn that sub up and enjoy.

Zeds Dead made the beats for this next track, Out For Blood Feat. Omar LinX.  Its a simple and slow beat with some filthy wobbles mixed in.  When you throw Omar LinX's smooth verses on top,  you get this heavy tune.

This is an unofficial leak.  There have been rumors its not him, but they aren't true.  He tweeted saying he made a Reptile theme track the other day.  This one is decent quality, and yes the video is looped.  But it is the best you're going to get till its officially dropped. What is this ChillStep you speak of Calum?

The next couple of post's are definitely gonna be something cool. I'm only going to post one of a few tracks I found in my iTunes library from way back. That way I can leave you guys with a little taste of what's to come in the next couple posts. Today's song is Sæglopur (Enigma Remix) by Sigur Ros. This is a song I'd personally classify as ChillStep. The bass wobble in this isn't over the top, it's real chill, and the beat is rather relaxing. That's why this is ChillStep. Enjoy. :)

Not Your Usual Type of Dubstep

Alright so I stumbled upon these two songs, from two different sites, and both were really chill and unusual dubstep songs. I know it's not what most of you are going to like, but trust me, these are chillin' dubstep songs that are really good. Mass by Virtual Boy is a 7 minute and 31 second long track that keeps getting better as you listen to it more and more. Barefoot dub (Cats do Different Tracks Remix) by Jahcoozi is something that was a little out of my comfort zone of dubstep, but after listening to it a few times I really, really, like it. Enjoy.

First song is Drop Down (Haydn Hoffman Remix) by Designer Drugs which hits really hard and is definitely gonna get the blood flowing. The second song is In The Summer (Tek-One Remix) by Crystal Fighters which has an incredibly nice beat and I'm sure you'll be noddin' along in no time. By no means are these two songs new but they are realitively unheard of. Both are bangin' and I'm sure you'll like these.
