Monday with Ioqe - Interview/Music

Today I logged onto soundcloud and saw that Ioqe favourited his track that I  had uploaded. Immediately after seeing this I messaged him asking if it was okay that I had posted it then I proceeded to ask for an interview. He happily agreed to the interview which got me really pumped! Here it is:
Q: What's your name, age, and where are you from?
A: My name is dustin, and i'm 17.. and from berlin/germany
Q: How did you get started in making/producing dubstep music? How long have you been doing it for?
A: I started, dont know.. a good year ago now, to (actively)produce dubsteppish stuff, i began with hiphop/rapbeats when i was 13 or so but it wasn't such a big hobby back then..
so i'd say i'm doing it for 4-5 years now, but not really active

Q: What or who inspired you to get started?
A: There're just a few people who really inspire me.. ruckspin, untold, truth and planas were just the bigger ones.. i often 'support' unknown producers which do the same highquality-stuff like the pros..

Q: Favourite beer?

A: Heineken
Q: Favourite food?
A: Pizza? kinda unusual questions! haha :D
Q: Favourite artist(s) or song(s) at the moment?
A: ATM i really adore pangaea - You & I and eliphinos remix of kidkanevils 'floating world'
Q: Any plans to release a mixtape/EP in the future?
A: I'm not planning on a specific ep or album, because i just released the free-ep 'my way' together with two artists about 2 weeks ago.. but don't worry, i'll do music in the future, too :)
Q: What's your favourite thing about making music?
A: The best thing about producing is the fact, that you're able to do exactly the music that satisfies you. you don't have to search for a huge track which makes you happy for just 90%.. no, you're able to do 100% the stuff, you like to. and if other people (like you) like my stuff, it's just the double awesomeness!

Thank you very much for letting me interview you and for you taking the time to answer these questions, Dustin! I really appreciate it! I, and I'm sure a lot of the people on this blog, are looking forward to listening to your stuff in the future!
Check out Ioqe's stuff [here].

Thursday My Way

I stumbled across these three songs the other day made by three different artists. A collaboration EP of three producers brought together by Soundcloud, “My Way” shows how similar yet different dubstep and a track can get. Enjoy.

Wednesday Wobbles #5 - Neurotoxin

Today's song goes pretty hard! I'm sure all of you Portal fans will recognize the samples used in this. I think that the samples were used in a really good way, unlike some songs where I find they are just randomly thrown in the song at certain parts. This track really seems to flow well. It is relatively unknown and I really think it deserves much more exposure. Enjoy.

Tuesday Tunes #4 - Unfinished Business

To be honest I've never heard of this artist before but I have to give it up to Stinkahbell for this awesome track. Such a great beat with a nice drop and a heavy bass wobble. Enjoy.
P.S. drop is at about 1:24

And this track by Breaknoise I have been listening to non-stop so I thought I'd throw it in, although I'm sure that the majority of you have heard it, if not, you're welcome. :)

Sunday Shhillin' #5 - Fear

I'm currently finishing up an economics scrapbook and as I'm stressing this song began to play. I immediately felt more calm and relaxed. I'm not sure if it was the soothing sound of the strings in the background, the laid back beat (well for the most part), or the comfort in the tone of the vocals but I really dig this. I hope you do as well. Enjoy.

Wednesday Wobbles #4

Whats going on everyone?  This is Kelvin posting today.  Today we are featuring Zeds Dead, a local dub group from Toronto.  One thing that all of these tracks have in common is the absurd amount of wobble that Zeds Dead is known for.  So sit back, turn that sub up and enjoy.

Panther (Zeds Dead Remix) by Keep It Dub

Zeds Dead made the beats for this next track, Out For Blood Feat. Omar LinX.  Its a simple and slow beat with some filthy wobbles mixed in.  When you throw Omar LinX's smooth verses on top,  you get this heavy tune.
Zeds Dead & Omar LinX - Out For Blood by zedsdead

This last track is 1975 by Zeds Dead.  It's an upbeat sort of dance track with some glitchy drops.  You're gonna love it.

Sunday Shhillin' #4 - Mimosa 58 Degrees EP

Mimosa is a 2 year veteren to the West Coast sound movement now and his new EP is a perfect example of that. In 58 Degrees, he demonstrates that he can do a little of everything: dubstep, drumstep, glitch hop and even some brostep. This is a must download for sure!

It's a Skrillex Saturday

Reptile
This is an unofficial leak.  There have been rumors its not him, but they aren't true.  He tweeted saying he made a Reptile theme track the other day.  This one is decent quality, and yes the video is looped.  But it is the best you're going to get till its officially dropped. So enjoy this, its the best one i could find.

Needed Change Featuring the 12th Planet
This one has been floating around for a long time.  But incase you have been living under a rock, here it is.

Throw(down) Thursday #3

Sorry to disappoint you if you were looking for a new Throwback Thursday post, but I may have something that will ease your pain. How about 8 tracks by slaminA? I think once you've listened to, and downloaded, his tracks you will be pleasantly happy on this rainy Thursday. I mean, how can you not be happy with some tracks that are well over and hour in length? Enjoy.

Wednesday Wobbles #3

I don't know about you, but personally I love dubstep. When you can find a pretty chill song with a good wobble that doesn't undermine this nice crisp beat you know it's a good day. Here is that song: Yeah Yeah (Inofaith's Cup-B Remix) by Bodyrox Ft. Luciana. Enjoy.

Tuesday Tunes #3 - I'm a motherfucking monster

Tuesday Tunes is back and what better way to revive it then with a true banger. I've always been a Kanye West fan and this is all the more reason to be. With more and more tracks being remixed now-a-days it's about time someone did one from his newest CD. Please, sit back and enjoy: Monster (Karetus Remix) by Kanye West. Also, be sure to follow K.I.D. on twitter: @KeepItDub.

Throwback Thursday #2

Thursday already? It feels like I just posted the first song this week. Time flies when you're busy! Today's song is Ekko Tech (Thrills Dubstep remix) by xXxXx. I don't know if many of you have heard this but if you haven't I'm sure you will like it. It's a real banger and has a lot of switchups to keep it entertaining. It's a classic for me, hopefully it will be for you to! Enjoy :)

Wednesday Wobbles #2

WUB WUB WUB! It's called Wednesday Wobbles for a reason and Pencil/My Piano/Firehouse (Soroka Remix) by Wu-Tang Clan exemplifies that perfectly. It's got a solid wobble, wub wub wub (like the intro to this post LOL IM FUN-KNEE), and it's mixed with a really good song as well. I know it's more of a chill song but it's still awesome! E n j o y :)

MashUp Monday #1

I've decided that Monday's are going to be filled with Mash Ups! First mashup is Lights! (Ellie, Waka, Wale) by Potomac Boys Club. This track is a nice mashup and it flows really nice... plus I like Waka Flocka so it makes it that much better. Enjoy!

Filthy Friday #1

IT'S FILTHY FRIDAY! Today's song comes from a little known Toronto group called The Killabits (click [here] to "like" them on facebook, it helps them out!). Although this song is older it still is one of the best. The song is called Stray Bullet,  and it is AH-MAZ-ING! It goes so hard that I can guarentee you'll be wiping your keyboard clean after listening to it once! ENJOY! :)

Wednesday Wobbles #1

With my good friend Kelvin Lee (Twitter: @Kelvinnn) helping come up with ideas for what to name the post each day titles for posts are gonna be much easier. So today is Wednesday Wobbles #1! I was originally only going to post Microlite (Zen Death Squad Remix) by Trophy Wife but Kelvin requested that I post up Seven Nation Army (The Glitch Mob Remix) by The White Stripes. So here are those to songs, enjoy! :) P.s. I'm going away Thursday and Friday but will be home on the Saturday. I'll try to get posts up for those days but if I can't just relax... I'm still chill.

What is this ChillStep you speak of Calum?

The next couple of post's are definitely gonna be something cool. I'm only going to post one of a few tracks I found in my iTunes library from way back. That way I can leave you guys with a little taste of what's to come in the next couple posts. Today's song is Sæglopur (Enigma Remix) by Sigur Ros. This is a song I'd personally classify as ChillStep. The bass wobble in this isn't over the top, it's real chill, and the beat is rather relaxing. That's why this is ChillStep. Enjoy. :)

Not Your Usual Type of Dubstep

Alright so I stumbled upon these two songs, from two different sites, and both were really chill and unusual dubstep songs. I know it's not what most of you are going to like, but trust me, these are chillin' dubstep songs that are really good. Mass by Virtual Boy is a 7 minute and 31 second long track that keeps getting better as you listen to it more and more. Barefoot dub (Cats do Different Tracks Remix) by Jahcoozi is something that was a little out of my comfort zone of dubstep, but after listening to it a few times I really, really, like it. Enjoy.

Download Link: [Mass - Virtual Boy]

Please note that the video below isn't the remix listed above. I couldn't find it on youtube.

Couldn't Resist - Two Piece Post

Thought I'd throw a couple of good tracks your way, seeing how that's what this blog is for! First song is Drop Down (Haydn Hoffman Remix) by Designer Drugs which hits really hard and is definitely gonna get the blood flowing. The second song is In The Summer (Tek-One Remix) by Crystal Fighters which has an incredibly nice beat and I'm sure you'll be noddin' along in no time. By no means are these two songs new but they are realitively unheard of. Both are bangin' and I'm sure you'll like these.

Download this track here: [Drop Down (Haydn Hoffman Remix) - Designer Drugs]

Laurent Garnier

While doing my daily check for dubstep songs I found a few that must have slipped passed me back in January. Nevertheless, here is one of them now. If you dig this song check out more by Laurent Garnier. Enjoy. :)

You can download Cancel The Apocalypse [here]

First Post! BRRRAAAAP!

What better way to start off this blog than with a remix by Bassnectar of Ellie Goulding's song Lights. Bassnectar really did a nice job on this remix and I especially like the anticipation that builds until that first drop. It's a banger.

You can download that track [here]
